Fetch TV full review
Fetch is an Australian TV service that brings free-to-air TV, catch-up, subscription channels and popular streaming apps like Netflix, Stan and YouTube together on one menu. Everything runs through a Fetch set-top box with Universal Voice Search, so you can find shows across live TV and apps in one place.
To use Fetch, you need the Fetch Access subscription, which costs $4.99/month. It includes the Movie Box with 50+ curated, ad-free movies each month, the Fetch Movies channel, 30+ free-to-air channels, 30+ lifestyle and entertainment channels streamed over the internet, and 30+ family-friendly games. On top of this, you can add channel packs: Kids for $7.99/month, Variety for $8.99/month, Knowledge for $8.99/month, Vibe for $10.99/month, or the Ultimate Pack for $26.99/month, which combines all four and includes 40+ premium channels. Every pack also gives you one movie rental credit each month, and new customers can opt in to a free first month of the Ultimate Pack.
There are two boxes, each with a $6 one-off activation fee. The Fetch Mini (Gen 5) supports 4K UHD and Wi-Fi 6, and lets you pause and rewind live TV. The Fetch Mighty (Gen 4) adds a 1TB hard drive that records up to 585 hours of TV, with the ability to record three channels while watching another. 4K content requires a minimum line speed of 15 Mbps. The Fetch Mobi app lets you watch on the go and manage recordings on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
Verdict: Fetch is an affordable and flexible way for Australians to combine free-to-air TV, streaming apps and extra channels without a lock-in contract. The need for a dedicated box, limited sports content and app support only on mobile hold it back. Our rating: 3.5/5.
