YouTube TV full review
YouTube TV is a live TV streaming service from Google that replaces traditional cable with 100+ live channels covering sports, news, entertainment and more. There is no contract, so you can cancel at any time.
The main YouTube TV Base Plan costs $82.99/month and includes 100+ channels. For viewers who mainly want live sports and news, the Sports + News Plan costs $71.99/month with 50+ channels. New members can try YouTube TV free for 10 days, and introductory discounts are often available for the first few months.
Every membership includes unlimited DVR space, with recordings saved for 9 months. One subscription supports up to 6 household accounts, each with its own login, recommendations and DVR library, and allows 3 simultaneous streams. Sports fans get extra tools such as Multiview to watch up to 4 games at once, plus Key Plays and Stats View during live games.
You can customize your plan with add-ons, including NFL Sunday Ticket, NFL RedZone with Sports Plus ($10.99/month), Spanish TV ($14.99/month), Entertainment Plus ($29.99/month) and 4K Plus ($9.99/month), which unlocks 4K on select content and unlimited streams at home.
YouTube TV works on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast with Google TV, Android TV, Samsung, LG and Vizio smart TVs, Xbox, PlayStation, mobile devices and web browsers. Support is available through live chat, phone and the YouTube TV Help Center.
Verdict: YouTube TV is one of the best cable replacements thanks to its big channel lineup, unlimited DVR and excellent sports features. The high monthly price and paid 4K upgrade are the main drawbacks. Our rating: 4.0/5.
