Searching for IPTV Italia usually turns up two things: licensed Italian TV services, and cheap “abbonamento IPTV” offers or free “liste IPTV funzionanti” shared on Telegram. Only the first is legal, and Italy now fines viewers of pirate IPTV, not just sellers. This guide compares the best legal IPTV in Italy for 2026, from Sky, NOW and DAZN for football to the free RaiPlay and Mediaset Infinity apps, with current prices, Italian channels and features. It also covers free Italian IPTV M3U playlists that are actually legal, and how to watch Italian TV abroad.
Key takeaways (TL;DR)
- The best legal IPTV in Italy for football is DAZN (every Serie A match on the Full plan) combined with Sky or NOW for the Champions League.
- RaiPlay streams Rai channels live for free without registration, and Mediaset Infinity has a free tier.
- Pirate IPTV (“pezzotto”) is illegal in Italy. In June 2026, police identified 2,769 users who face fines of €154 to €5,000.
- Free legal Italian M3U playlists exist, such as iptv-org’s Italian list with 322 channels, but they don’t include Sky or DAZN channels.
What Is IPTV in Italy?
IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) delivers TV channels over the internet instead of satellite or digital terrestrial. If you’re new to it, read our guide to what IPTV is and how it works. In Italy, legal IPTV comes in three forms:
- Pay-TV streaming: Sky, NOW and DAZN stream sport, films and series through apps on smart TVs, sticks and phones.
- Free broadcaster apps: RaiPlay and Mediaset Infinity stream Italy’s main free-to-air channels.
- Free public playlists: open M3U lists of channels that broadcasters make freely available online.
How We Chose the Best IPTV Italia Services
We only included services that hold the rights to the channels they show. For each, we checked the official app listing or a recent, dated Italian price guide for:

- Italian channels and sport: Serie A, Champions League, Rai and Mediaset coverage.
- Devices: smart TV, streaming stick, phone and web support.
Prices were checked in October 2026 and can change at any time.

Liste IPTV Italia: Free Italian M3U Playlists
If you’re looking for a free “lista canali IPTV italiani”, the safest source is the open iptv-org project on GitHub. Its Italian-language playlist, https://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/languages/ita.m3u, lists 322 channels, and its Italy country playlist is at https://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/countries/it.m3u, according to the project’s playlist index. These contain publicly available streams only, so some channels may be geo-blocked or offline. Load them in a free app from our IPTV player guide.
Be careful with “liste IPTV funzionanti gratis” and Telegram groups that promise Sky, DAZN and Serie A for free. These are pirate streams, and watching them can lead to fines.
Is IPTV Legal in Italy? Fines for Viewers
IPTV is legal in Italy when the service is licensed, as with every option in this guide. Pirate IPTV, known in Italy as “pezzotto”, is illegal, and Italian authorities now target viewers as well as sellers.
In June 2026, the Guardia di Finanza in Crotone dismantled three illegal IPTV operations selling pirate access to Sky, DAZN, NOW, Netflix and other services. Police identified 2,769 customers in 43 provinces, who will be notified of administrative fines of €154 to €5,000, Advanced Television reported. How to Watch Italian TV Abroad (IPTV Italia Estero)
Most Italian streaming services limit live TV to Italy. HTML.it reported in January 2026 that RaiPlay shows the message “RAI detiene i diritti per lo streaming del contenuto esclusivamente per connessioni dall’Italia” to users abroad. If you live outside Italy:
- EU residents: EU portability rules let you use your Italian paid subscriptions, such as Sky Go, NOW or DAZN, while temporarily in another EU country.
- Outside the EU: check whether DAZN or other services offer a plan in your country of residence, as rights differ by region.
- Privacy on the move: our guide to the best VPN for IPTV explains when a VPN helps, but always follow each service’s terms.
Do You Need an IPTV Box in Italy?
No. Sky, NOW, DAZN, RaiPlay and Mediaset Infinity all have apps for smart TVs and streaming sticks. Avoid “IPTV box Italia” devices sold pre-loaded with thousands of channels: they’re the classic pezzotto. If you want a new device, choose a well-known streaming stick or smart TV from a major brand.
